Since August 2024, I’ve been working with a game studio to design the UI and logo for a 3D narrative puzzle game, where players explore an old library at night, uncovering its secrets and stories.

Logo Design
For the logo, we aimed to create an identity that incorporates key objects from the game while uniquely representing Archived.

This logo was challenging, trying to fit different themes and symbols into one compelling icon.

Finalizing The Idea

For the logo mark, I was able to use the A, a book, and a graphic pen to create our main symbol. I then draw our a custom font for the title. I sent it to my team lead and he loved the logo!

For the UI we want an aesthetic that has an old and hand drawn feeling. Utilizing pens and paper for design. For the UX, we want the puzzles to be challenging but never have the user feel stuck.
Here are some initial notes for the UI when we started.

Created an achievement that looks like the headline for a newspaper to give that old feeling. We have three collectable items in the game.

Menu System
Made a paused menu system that is stylized as an old page. My team and I discussed on what should be included in the menu but agreed on the design and navigator flow.

Journal
We wanted to have an interactable journal for the user to learn more about the main character and see items they've collected. I was able to draw and create a journal for us to use!

Controls and Inventory
I discussed with my team on what the controls should be for the game. I then created a controller map for us to put in the menu.
Another component I made was the circular inventory. We wanted an inventory design that fits the aesthetic and is usable for the player.
